It has been less than six weeks since I joined Rutgers. July 1, the first day on the job, included meetings with Engineering Deans and Directors, Department Chairs, and members of the staff. Together we agreed that I would visit SoE Departments and Centers as a first step toward developing a strategic hiring plan for growth of the faculty and staff. The agenda for the visits were set by the department chairs and center directors and the formats varied. I learned a lot in this process and know that there is much more to learn and look forward to spending more time with you.
